Downed Power Lines: What to Do:
Always assume a downed power line is live and avoid the area. Do not remove debris or touch anything in contact with the line, like vehicles or tree branches. Report downed power lines to the authorities and or electric company.
Safety Tips for High Winds:
· When Outside: Use handrails on walkways, avoid elevated areas, and watch for falling debris.
· If Driving: Keep both hands on the wheel, reduce speed, and watch for obstacles in the road.
· During a Power Outage: Have flashlights, extra batteries, and a plan to stay safe until power is restored.
