
According to new data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, unemployment in Tennessee held steady at 3.7% in January, matching the rate from December.
The difficult news, in a year-to-year comparison, statewide unemployment for January went from 3.2% to 3.7%.
Tennessee did continue to outperform the U.S. unemployment rate in January, which was three-tenths of a percentage below the national rate of 4%.
