Tullahoma City Schools has declared a remote learning day for all students this Friday, January 10, in anticipation of adverse weather conditions and out of an abundance of caution.
In recent years, Tennessee enacted a law permitting school districts to implement up to two remote learning days each semester. Since the legislation was introduced, Tullahoma High School has predominantly utilized these days for End-of-Course (EOC) and ACT testing. This semester, however, the district plans to use only one remote learning day, designating this Friday for remote instruction across the entire district.
It is important to note that remote learning days differ from traditional school closure days, which utilize stockpiled days. When Tullahoma City Schools closes due to inclement weather and uses a stockpiled day, all schools are closed, remote instruction is not provided, and breakfast and lunch services are suspended.
