Sam Vincent Powers Franklin County Rebels to 10-0 Win Over DeKalb County

The Franklin County Rebels achieved a commanding 10-0 triumph over DeKalb County on Monday, driven by an exceptional performance from right-handed pitcher Sam Vincent. Vincent delivered a dominant showing on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while conceding only three hits, allowing no runs, and issuing no walks.


The Rebels established their lead in the bottom of the third inning. Gus Gardner initiated the scoring by drawing a walk that brought in one run, followed by Casen Gilliam’s walk, which added another. Graysen McNeese concluded the inning’s offensive surge with a three-run single, providing Franklin County with a substantial advantage.


Silas Kirksey was credited with the loss for DeKalb County, pitching two innings and yielding five runs on four hits, with one strikeout and no walks. Evan Prichard made the start for DeKalb County, giving up five runs on two hits across two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking six.


McNeese and Vincent were instrumental in the Rebels' offensive success, each recording two hits. Vincent excelled at the plate, going 2-for-2, driving in three runs, and drawing two walks. The team demonstrated impressive discipline, accumulating six walks overall. Franklin County’s defense was impeccable, committing no errors, with Gardner making a team-high 12 plays.


Prichard, Preston Taylor, and Tucker Webb managed one hit each for DeKalb County. The team also maintained a clean defensive effort, with Webb leading the fielding performance with one chance.


The Franklin County Rebels are set to host Lincoln County on Thursday at 6 p.m.
