
The Franklin County Rebels saw their season come to an end Tuesday night with a 65-30 loss to the Lawrence County Wildcats in the District 8AAA quarterfinals.
Despite taking an early 6-2 lead, Franklin County struggled to keep pace as Lawrence County responded with a dominant 12-2 run to close the first quarter, leaving the Rebels trailing 16-8.
The Wildcats continued to widen the gap, ending the second quarter on another 12-2 surge to take a commanding 33-12 lead into halftime. By the end of the third quarter, Franklin County faced a 49-20 deficit, and the margin grew to as much as 38 points in the final period before the game concluded.
Brandon Walker and Jayden Cisco led the Rebels' scoring effort with six points apiece, while Brayden Arnold, Tyson Kennerly, and Monte Johnson each contributed five. Brody Goff added three points.
With the defeat, Franklin County closed out the season with a 4-24 record.
