UPDATE! Pedestrian Killed in I-24 Accident

At 6 a.m. Thursday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident on Interstate 24 near Exit 117. The THP report states that 46-year-old Robert Moreau was a pedestrian on the interstate and, for unknown reasons, stepped into oncoming traffic, where he was struck and killed by two vehicles.

One vehicle was a 2015 Hyundai Genesis driven by 25-year-old Jacob W. Meaker, and the other was a 2005 GMC NK1 operated by 60-year-old James M. Ashley. Both drivers are from Tennessee and face no charges from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
