Paul Stephen Holt, 64, of Decherd, TN, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 3, 1960, Steve was the son of the late Drexal Holt and his surviving mother, Emma Holt. He dedicated 50 years of his life as a butcher, working at various locations throughout Franklin County, including Holt’s Supermarket and Bate’s Foods.
Steve was a member of First Baptist Church of Decherd and attended when he was able. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or camping with family. He loved taking rides with his wife, Leanne, and could often be found selling and trading at flea markets in Monteagle and Manchester. Some of his fondest memories were made vacationing with family in Gatlinburg and Florida. Above all, Steve cherished time spent with loved ones and took great pride in attending his grandchildren’s events. He loved reenacting John Candy and Sanford and Son. He will be remembered for his warm heart, love of laughter, and gift for making others smile.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Drexal Holt, and brothers, Scotty Holt and Tim Holt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Leanne Holt of Decherd; children, Stephanie Holt of Decherd and Matt Holt (Nikki) of Belvidere; grandchildren, Presten, Pailen, Paysen, and Piersen; and his beloved pet of 17 years, Gizmo. He is also survived by his mother, Emma Holt of Cowan; siblings, Kenneth (Melody) Holt of Winchester, Troy Holt of Belvidere, Eric (Foresa) Holt of Winchester, and Stacy (Dovie) Holt of Cowan; along with many nieces and nephews.
Steve’s memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. LZ Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Lloyd Rogers, Cody Rogers, Jose Pacheco, Dylan Holt, Dalton Holt, Adam Holt, Randy Kelly, Jason Argo, and Presten Holt serving as pallbearers.
