According to sources familiar with the matter, Nissan is reportedly poised to withdraw from merger discussions with Honda. This decision would terminate negotiations that had the potential to culminate in a $60 billion merger, which would have positioned the companies as the world’s third-largest automaker.

The collapse of these merger talks raises new concerns regarding Nissan’s future, especially in light of the company's recent announcements. Last week, Nissan revealed plans for layoffs at its three American plants, including the facility in Decherd, Tennessee.
