The non-profit organization Special Olympics Tennessee and Vanderbilt University announced their bid to host the Special Olympics USA Games on Monday, following a four-year bid process.
The 2030 site search for the Special Olympics has been narrowed down to Nashville or Cleveland, Ohio.
Leaders from Special Olympics Tennessee and Vanderbilt indicated that if Nashville is selected, the 2030 games would be the largest inclusive event in the city's history, with an estimated participation of 4,500 Special Olympics athletes and 10,000 volunteers nationwide.
