Joyce Elaine Cunningham, age 71 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Baroness Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on March 14, 1953, to the late James Avery and Mildred A. (Hill) Cunningham. Joyce was a 1971 graduate of Franklin County High School. She was employed as a receptionist for the Tennessee Department of Human Services. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing, and shopping with her best friend Pam. She enjoyed watching old movies. Joyce was known for her delicious blueberry crunch, as well as being the best popcorn popper in the world. Her family and friends will remember her kindness and soft-spoken nature. Joyce was a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church until her health failed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, James “Buster” Cunningham, and Gwendolyn Cunningham; and nephew, Timmy Cunningham. Joyce is survived by her loving sisters, Volinda (Otis) Eady and Marcella Cunningham; nieces, Victoria Disch, and Ramona Thomas; nephews, Michael Cunningham, and Jason Cunningham; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
