EAGLEVILLE – The Huntland Lady Hornets took to the road Friday night, facing off against a tough Eagleville squad in a high-energy matchup. Despite a determined effort, Huntland fell short, losing 45-28 in a game where they showed flashes of resilience but couldn’t overcome Eagleville’s offensive firepower.

The Lady Hornets started the game with intensity, looking to set the tone early. Kinsley Kilpatrick led the charge for Huntland, putting up 9 points on the night, while Marley Phillips contributed 6. However, Eagleville's defense made it difficult for Huntland to establish a rhythm offensively.

Huntland struggled to contain Eagleville’s sharp shooting and fast-paced attack, which allowed the home team to build a lead by halftime. Despite trailing, Huntland continued to battle, showing grit on both ends of the floor.

Coming out of the locker room, the Lady Hornets aimed to cut into Eagleville’s lead. Riley Maxwell and Stratton Davis each played aggressive defense, forcing turnovers and pushing the ball in transition. Maxwell finished the game with 4 points, while Davis added 3.

Lynsey Jakubowski and Emily Stewart also found ways to contribute, each scoring 3 points and making key defensive plays. Still, Eagleville’s ability to convert second-chance opportunities and capitalize on Huntland’s mistakes proved to be the difference in the game.

With this loss, the Lady Hornets move to 11-13 and 2-3 in District Play after Friday's Game. Saturdays game on the road in Collinwood has not been made available at the time of writing. The next broadcast for the Lady Hornets will be on Valentines Day as they will take on their rival Moore County. Tipoff is set for 6 PM.
