On Friday morning, Sean McLennan has resigned as the head boy's basketball coach at Huntland High School, effective immediately. The decision, attributed to health concerns, was confirmed by Huntland Athletic Director Bob Robertson on Friday.
McLennan was in the midst of his 11th season leading the Hornets, having compiled a record of 123 wins and 170 losses during his tenure. Under his guidance, the team secured two district titles and two regional championships, alongside multiple sub-state appearances. However, the Hornets have struggled this season, starting with a disappointing record of 0-10.
In the wake of McLennan's departure, Colton Roberts has been appointed as the interim coach for the remainder of the season. Roberts, who previously served as the head coach of the Huntland Middle boys basketball program from 2019 to 2023, is currently the coach of the Huntland Middle girls basketball team. Matthew Prince, the head girls' basketball coach at Huntland High, will assist him.
The Hornets are scheduled to play their next game today at Cascade High School.
