Franklin County Rebelettes Finish as 8AAA District Runner-Up

Writer: Keaton SolomonKeaton Solomon

The Franklin County Rebelettes wrapped up the 8-AAA District Tournament run on Monday, finishing as the Runner-Up after a tough matchup against the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats. Despite their best efforts, the Rebelettes couldn’t keep pace with Tullahoma’s relentless defensive pressure applied across the entire court, ultimately falling short with a final score of 49-31.

The game started off with Franklin County struggling to find their rhythm. Tullahoma jumped out to an 18-6 lead by the end of the first quarter, applying consistent pressure that forced Franklin County into costly mistakes. By halftime, the Lady Wildcats had extended their lead to 30-13.

Franklin County had several opportunities to capitalize on Tullahoma’s errors, but missed free throws and other miscues prevented them from closing the gap. Heading into the final quarter, Tullahoma led 41-24, and despite a late push, the Rebelettes couldn’t overcome the deficit.

Leading the Rebelettes in scoring was Nakayjah Holman, who put up 11 points, followed closely by Gracen Baggett with 10. Other contributors included Paislie Edge, Hannah Campbell, Aahna Cater, and Baylor Russell, each adding 2 points to the total. Kenzie Arnold rounded out the scoring with 1 point.

They will host District 7 #3 seed Cumberland County on Friday in the Region Tournament Quarterfinals. A time for the game has not been announced at the time of writing.
