A fire at the Mountain Inn motel on Thursday night in Monteagle, TN, has left nearly 40 residents without shelter and raised concerns about their immediate future. The blaze erupted around 10 PM, and upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames engulfing the eastern section of the building and spreading throughout the roof.
Firefighters faced additional challenges due to the frigid temperatures in the area, which caused a nearby fire hydrant to freeze solid. Crews had to thaw the hydrant before they could effectively combat the flames. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the residents or firefighters.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has since taken charge of the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
