The Decherd Police Department is continuing the investigation into vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Nissan parking lot.
Sgt. Investigator Greg King and Detective Jody Bray have recovered 11 handguns during this investigation. So far, only 9 firearms have been reported stolen. Of those 9, 6 have been returned to their owners. Efforts are underway to return all recovered firearms to their rightful owners.
The investigation has revealed the suspect vehicle was seen in the parking lot on dates other than the initial report date of November 4. There is strong evidence that more firearms that have been recovered so far were stolen, possibly along with other items yet to be reported such as cash, cell phones, etc.
The Decherd Police Department strongly encourages anyone who is a victim in this case to please contact the police department and file a report.
Again, the Decherd Police Department would like to thank the Cowan Police Department and Nissan Security for their assistance.
