Marjorie Edith Layne, age 82 of Decherd, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 2, 2025, at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born on November 13, 1942, in Pittsburg, PA, to the late William Charles and Marjorie Edith (Kimmler) Pryor. Marjorie worked in various hospitals as a CNA. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, watching Hallmark movies and game shows. Marjorie was an avid Atlanta Braves fan who never missed watching a game. She was a devout Christian woman and attended Chapel Christian Church in Winder, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Layne; and granddaughter, Alexandria Ferguson. Marjorie is survived by her children, William (Missy) Pryor, Deborah (Chris) Layne, and Bryan (Krissi) Layne; grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Butler, Nikki Day, Mikayla Pryor, William Fergurson, Zachary (Katelynn) Fergurson, Dustin Layne, Domanick (Amaya) Layne and Kylie Layne; great-grandchildren, Emma and Maggie Day, Noah and Maya Pryor, and Ella Butler; siblings, Richard (Mary Beth) Pryor, Janet Pryor, and Carol Pryor; and many other extended family members.
