The City of Decherd will host its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 14, at 6 p.m. To participate in the parade, visit the city’s website at decherdtn.gov to sign up. All information and rules can be found there.
The parade will follow the same path as last year, starting in front of FirstBank on Decherd Boulevard and ending at Hank Weddington Park on Main Street.
· All participants must register online by completing the submission by Friday, December 13th, at 2:00 p.m.
· Assigned numbers must be placed in a visible area of the registered vehicle.
· The line-up will begin at 4:30 p.m., judging will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the parade will start promptly at 6:00 p.m.
The parade starts at Cumberland Street and ends at Hank Weddington Park
All floats, and vehicles participating in the parade must line up on Cumberland St by coming in from the 4th Ave N direction. No traffic will be allowed to come down Cumberland St. from Decherd Blvd. Off-road vehicles and other groups line up in the designated areas shown below.
Marching bands and other walking participants will gather in the CO-OP parking lot and enter the parade directly from there at 6:00 p.m.
Parade staff will be onsite to provide directions and answer questions.
There will be parking at Hank Weddington Park for band parents, horse trailers, etc. Please arrange for transportation back to Cumberland St.
· All entries must reflect the holiday spirit. The parade committee reserves the right to deny participation to non-compliant entries.
· No entry is permitted to have a Santa Claus character. Please allow excitement and anticipation of the arrival of Santa at the end of the parade.
· There is no stopping during the parade. No one is permitted to get off or on any moving entry during the parade.
· An adult must supervise all children participating in the parade at all times.
· Participants shall not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substance.
· No fire, discharging firearms, or pyrotechnics of any kind are allowed.
