Charles T. “Tommy” Gunn, age 75 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital in Germantown, TN. Tommy was born on April 26, 1949, in Huntsville, to the late George Thomas and Elva Joyce (Griner) Gunn. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. Tommy retired after serving forty years with the CSX Railroad as an engineer. After retirement, he and his wife traveled the United States, visiting every state. He was a faithful member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed helping others. In his spare time, you could find him playing his guitar, listening to music, working with his hands in carpentry, or reading a good book. He enjoyed studying history and playing a good game of Rook with family and friends. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Laura Hawkersmith Gunn; sons, Joseph Bradly Gunn, Gregory Thomas Gunn, and Gerald Neal Gunn; grandchildren, Duke Thomas Gunn, Shelby Lisah Gunn (Inaê Dutra Valerio), and Lilly Carmen Gunn; and sister, Brenda Gunn. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 2:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
