Area Black Friday Hikes

Lucky Knott

Many Tennessee State Parks will have Day After Thanksgiving hikes on Nov. 29. We offer guided hikes for all ages and abilities, ranging from leisurely, peaceful strolls to rugged ramblings. Whether you're eager to join one of our signature guided hikes or embark on a self-guided adventure, our parks are here for you to find space to give thanks.

At Old Stone Fort State Park in Manchester, join Ranger Gibbs in front of the museum for the After Thanksgiving Day Hike on November 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The hike takes you to the Enclosure Trail loop to work off the calories we ate the day before and enjoy the park's natural and historic beauty.

At Savage Gulf in Grundy County, join Ranger Jamie on a 7-mile loop hike for the annual Day After Thanksgiving Hike. The meet-up at the Savage Gulf North Trailhead by the Stone Door Ranger Station at 8:30 a.m. to begin the hike. NOTE: These trails are considered moderate; however, given the distance and terrain, please be prepared for a challenging hike.

Please make sure you have sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water and snacks, and are completely capable of completing the entire 7-mile loop. We will take frequent, short breaks and walk for extended periods during the hike.

You will hike through ecologically diverse forestlands and observe beautiful overlooks.

Accessory items such as cameras and binoculars are encouraged but not required to help you enjoy the hike.
