On November 20th, 2024, at approximately 2027, Tony Jameson Sweeton escaped from a transport vehicle while being transported from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office to the Coffee County Sheriff's Department.
Sweeton escaped the car at the intersection of Highway 127 and Wattendorf Highway at the Franklin County/Coffee County line. He was handcuffed at the time of the escape and is believed to be still handcuffed. Tony is a Coffee County inmate but was in Franklin County for an appearance in Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Sweeton is believed to be contained in a wooded area to the west of the intersection of Highway 127 and Wattendorf Highway. Coffee County and Franklin County Deputies, with the assistance of the Tullahoma Police Department, Manchester Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Arnold Air Force Base Police, among others, have formed a perimeter around the wooded area.

Black and white striped pants
Tony was in court in Franklin County to face the charge of statutory rape.
Tony was in custody in Coffee County for the following charges:
-Aggravated Assault
-Assault on First Responders X3
-Theft of Motor Vehicle
-Theft of Property
-Resisting Arrest
-Domestic Violence
-Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor
-Vandalism X2
-Driving on a Revoked License
-Violation of Probation X2
-Assault X3
-Improper Display of Tag
Sheriff Tim Fuller is working with Coffee County Sheriff Chad Partin on this matter. They ask that anyone in the Winchester Highway or Millers Crossroads area be alert and report anything suspicious.
